About

I am Ellen, or you might know me as Ellie. I work at a fascinating intersection between Regenerative Practice, Facilitation, Design, Peer Learning, Research, and Coaching.  I am a collaborator and creative at heart, fascinated by relational dynamics, co-creation, nature and the web of life.

I help people to weave regenerative practices into their lives and communities, their work and organisations, and the wider systems we are all part of.

I blend together a multifaceted and interdisciplinary set of practices and expertise including:

facilitation, regenerative and systems thinking and theories, peer learning, ethnography, research, insight sense making, trends and futures, design and innovation processes, and creative and visual design. I’ve worked across a spectrum of sectors and ecosystems for over a decade: from corporates, not-for-profits, civil society, communities, both in the UK and internationally.

Regenerative futures, systemic transformation, needs to be nested in place, cycles, and relationships. To that end, for me the word ‘regenerative’ is an invitation into reciprocity with each other and with the more-than-human world. I work in this spirit - I love to collaborate and have nurture relationships with organisations and peers with shared values and visions for the future. I’m an Associate with Huddlecraft, and since 2021 I have partnered with Oliver Broadbent at Constructivist bringing The Regenerative Design Lab to life. I have just completed a 3.5 season/cycle term as a Trustee for Hazel Hill Trust, a woodland in Wiltshire where I enjoyed co-shaping an organisation built on relationship to place. â€‹

Still, in independent, freelance life one can sometimes feel quite alone, so as an antidote to this I’m part of several ecosystems, communities of practice across the fields of my work that I can tap into for trusted critique and reciprocal support when needed.  It is a pleasure to know that following collectives have my back: Huddlecraft Collective, The Regenerates Community (Regenerative Practitioners brought together by the Regenesis Institute), Warm Data Lab community,  a thriving freelancers micro-collective, as well as The RDL community I co-steward as part of RDL.

Alongside facilitation, consulting and coaching, I’m a designer, artist, illustrator. This year I designed Huddlecraft’s 8 Year Book, part almanac, part impact report, part celebration of 8 years of the organisation. It is a piece of work I am extremely proud of.  My xxx website is still in development, in the meantime a selection of my visual and design work can be found here.

I live in the Vale of Pewsey, Wiltshire, UK, where I find delight and awe through hiking, walking, gardening, making and creating, all in appreciation of mother nature in all her aliveness.  My pronouns are she/her.

If you're curious about collaborating, working together, hiring me, or feel we share resonant or different ideas and interests — I’d love to hear from you. I’m always open to conversations that spark connection, creativity, new possibilities and perspectives.

Huddlecraft Huddles

2017-2020

I participated in a Huddle in 2017. In 2019 I hosted my own purposeful, pop-up peer group in partnership with Deepr and Hawkwood Centre for Future Thinking. The Huddle brought 20 people together to collectively and individually explore the question ‘How can we embed human connection into services and systems?’. We navigated the turbulence of the pandemic with collective and participatory processes.
