Facilitation and Consulting

Holding space for relational insight, systems thinking, and collective action

You can work with me to design, facilitate and deliver training, events, experiences, one-off projects and interventions. This might look like a strategic workshop, an innovation sprint, a retreat, a peer learning season, a roundtable, focus groups, insight interviews and sense-making.

Ready-made, one-size-fits-all solutions are a myth. I will work with you to create a responsive answer, meeting your needs and working towards outcomes.  I am collaborative, adaptable and can step into different roles that complement and address what you need.

Facilitation

My facilitation can be applied in a variety of contexts to help you bring people together, understand nuance, and work towards your hopes and aims.

I have spent over 13 years honing the art of facilitation. During this time I have grown a rare set of expertise, skills and knowledge which enable me to draw upon a variety of frameworks, models, theories, and practices. I continue to enjoy learning, exploring, and playing with new ones.

No matter the form of our project, I bring both playful and calm energy, and will be both an empathic and neutral listener. I take a systemic approach, ensuring that our work is grounded in wider ecosystems and human systems. I put relationships at the heart of my work, and as a certified coach working in peer learning for 6 years I weave coaching principles into the spaces I design and hold.

Embedding multiple approaches

Regenerative and relational practices

I can help you to weave regenerative and relational practices into your team, organisation or community.

I draw upon a wealth of systemic and regenerative frameworks that I can guide, mentor and coach, and will work with you to apply them.

Futures and trends

I can help you to understand the patterns of emerging futures through trend forecasting and the 3 Horizons framework.

I can also facilitate collective creative visioning and imagination practices to bring people together through a shared experience of imagination and hope.

Insight and sensemaking

I am confident leading multiple types of research and insight gathering, sense-making and synthesis—be it desk, visual, ethnographic, or simply working with others to make sense of the wisdom they hold. This element of my work is about understanding multiple perspectives, and is often integrative with other facets of my approaches.

Peer approaches
and co-creation

I have spent nearly a decade immersing myself in peer-learning spaces.
I design and facilitate learning journeys, experiences and communities of practice that support people to grow their agency, adaptability, understand multiple patterns and perspectives, and centre strong, peer-to-peer relationships.

Innovation and
design process

Working with design and innovation frameworks to generate ideas for your next project, fundraising campaign, or neighbourhood initiative etc. This might look like a 5 day sprint, or it might be a longer, more in depth process over several weeks or months.

Coaching

As a certified coach, I embed coaching values and methodologies into my facilitation and consultancy work, helping you find clarity, agency, and your own way through complexity.

“Working across multiple learning design and service design projects, Ellie has added unique value to the work both in the rigour and integrity she brings as well as her relational skills that have truly brought the very best in all players. She’s an asset and I’m hoping to work with her again soon.”

Hazel Hill Wood

2021 - 2025

In 2025 I completed a 3.5 year cycle as a Trustee of Hazel Hill Wood, near Salisbury. Learning about what it takes to steward an organisation rooted in place and the natural world. During my time there I led a community consultation, which was part of a review process on the wood’s vision and mission, and worked to embed a Deep Ecology ethos and relationships at the heart of the Trust’s vision and mission. Midway through this cycle I supported a complex transition from founder and original chair of the board, to a new Chair. Latterly, I spent a year line managing and coaching a staff member, supporting them as they carved out a new role for themselves in the charity. This involved working with the Trustee team to advocate for the staff member’s needs while ensuring alignment with the charity’s strategic goals, navigating the delicate balance between organisational sustainability and individual professional development.
